TESTING INFRARED SAUNA
Infrared saunas caught my eye a while back, but it wasn’t until recently that I made the step and researched the possibility of getting an infrared sauna myself. What I found? Radiant Health Portable Infrared sauna. A genius solution packed up in 5,5 kilos, easy to handle and easy to store.
The sauna has carbon fiber heating panels as well as a floor heating pad, that radiates infrared heat which penetrates the tissue and efficiently heats the body. The sauna becomes completely warm in around 5-10 minutes, and when fully heated the sauna can reach temperatures of around 55 to 60 degrees, depending on your preferences.
Infrared heat consist of the same heat as you would experience from a fire or the sun. The warmth, similar to sunlight, heats the body deeply. The warm feeling you get afterwards are truly amazing, feeling warm from the inside out.
The difference between infrared and traditional saunas
A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body and here the body sweats in reaction to being in a hot environment – sweating is a superficial, topical, cooling reaction whereas the infrared sauna consists of heat waves that penetrates the tissue (about five times deeper compared to the warmth from a traditional one) and directly warms the body. When the energy enters the body, it causes a raise in the body’s core temperature and ultimately causes the body to sweat like it does during exercise. This sweat is coming from a deeper place and in turn, creates a deeper form of detoxification than is found in a traditional sauna.
